Vendor statuses and connections

download Download PDF

A vendor's visibility to your network is decided by the status of their connection to your organisation, not by the vendor record existing.

StatusMeans
PendingThey have applied and nobody has decided yet. Not visible to tribes.
ActiveAccepted and listed.
PausedTemporarily out of the directory, without losing the record — a lapsed subscription, a supply problem, a review.
RejectedThe application was turned down.

Accepting an application

Applications are reviewed from the vendor record. Look at the profile before accepting — a vendor with no products, no contact details and a dead website is not a listing your tribes will thank you for.

Pause rather than delete

DELETING LOSES THE HISTORY
Pausing takes a vendor out of the directory and keeps their profile, announcements and subscription record intact. It is almost always the right answer — a supplier who lapses this year often comes back next year.

Vendors managed by the organisation

Some vendors are managed by the organisation rather than by their own administrators — a supplier who will never log in, listed because your tribes need to find them. Their profile is maintained by your team, and it goes stale unless somebody owns it.
