From the tribe list, press the + button. The form is short on purpose — everything else is set afterwards.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | Required. What the tribe is called. |
| Slug | Required and unique. The web address for its page. Filled in from the name automatically. |
| Type | Which tribe types it belongs to. Can be changed later. |
| Connect to all websites | Ticked by default — puts the tribe on every website you run. |
The slug is checked as you type; if it is taken you are told The slug is reserved. Spaces become hyphens automatically. Choose it carefully — it is the public web address, so changing it later breaks any link anybody has saved.
What happens when you save
- The status is set to Active, so it is billable and public immediately.
- It inherits the organisation's timezone.
- It gets default opening hours of 9 to 5, Monday to Friday.
- Your organisation's email templates and default page content are copied to it.
- It is enrolled into the mailing lists it qualifies for.
- Its website content blocks are created from the tribe types you chose.
A NEW TRIBE IS LIVE AND BILLING FROM THE MOMENT YOU SAVE
Check the timezone
A tribe in a different timezone from head office inherits the wrong one. Fix it before it takes any bookings or sales, or its figures land on the wrong day and its scheduled campaigns go out at the wrong hour.
What to do next
- Open Tribe Settings and set the status, region, tags, advisor and access level.
- Add the address on the Address tab.
- Open the tribe's own profile — the cog on its home card — for the phone number, email, opening hours and logo.
- Set its Google Place ID so review requests reach the right listing.
- Add its team members and administrators.
Access level
Restricted Access lets a tribe update only its contact details and address — no administrators, no other functionality. Full Access opens the product up and activates the monthly charge for that tribe.
