Video posts failing to publish (Facebook, Instagram, Google)

Video posts rejected when set to Image

If a social post includes a video file but the post type is set to Image, platforms like Facebook and Instagram will reject it. Set the post to Video before publishing.

Fix a failed video post

  1. Open the post in Social Media → Posts.
  2. Edit the post and switch the post type to Video.
  3. Add/attach the video file to the Video post.
  4. Publish or schedule the post.
  5. For any platforms that already failed, go to the post list and click Retry on each red error icon. Repeat for any corporate posts if applicable.

Common errors you might see

  • Instagram: “Instagram video upload failed: ProcessingFailedError … Request processing failed.” Fix by switching the post to Video, attaching the video file, and retrying.
  • Facebook Page: “Your photos couldn't be uploaded … Photos should be less than 10 MB …” This appears when a video was sent as a photo. Switch the post to Video and retry.
  • Google Business: “An unexpected error occurred.” After correcting the post type to Video, retry the post.

Large video publishes

Large video posts may take longer to process. Publishing runs in the background, and the status will update when processing completes. If you see a temporary 500 error when retrying, try again after a moment and allow time for background processing to finish.

Notes

  • Do not attach a video file to an Image post — always use the Video post type for videos.
