Social media posting: how it works

download Download PDF

Write a post once, choose the channels, and Gorilla Dash publishes it — now or on a date you set. For a network, one post written at organisation level can go out from every tribe's own pages.

Three things a post needs

PieceWhat it is
ConnectionsThe social accounts and pages Gorilla Dash is allowed to publish to. Set up once, per person.
The postThe words, images and links — with a different version per platform if you want one.
The scheduleNow, or a date and time.

Where posts live

  • Social Media Posts — the list of everything written, with its status.
  • Calendar — the same posts by date, which is how most people plan.
  • Business Information — the profile details Gorilla Dash keeps in step with your listings.

Organisation and tribe posts

A post written inside a tribe goes to that tribe's own channels. A post written at organisation level can be sent out to your tribes, so each publishes it from their own page — which is the difference between a brand campaign that appears everywhere and one that only appears on head office's page.

CONNECTIONS COME FIRST
Nothing can be published to a channel nobody has connected. If a platform is missing when you write a post, the connection is the thing to fix — see connecting your social media accounts.
