The social media calendar

download Download PDF

The calendar shows scheduled and published posts by date. It is the planning view — the list tells you what exists, the calendar tells you whether your month has a shape.

Moving around

Switch between month, week and day, and step forward and back a day, a week or a month at a time. The week view lays posts out as columns, which is the easiest way to see a working week at a glance.

Reading a post card

Each card shows the post, its platforms and its status, and marks whether it is an organisation post that came down to the tribe or one the tribe wrote itself. Open a card to see the full post.

What the calendar is good for

  • Finding the gaps — a fortnight with nothing in it is obvious here and invisible in a list.
  • Spotting clashes — three posts on one afternoon and nothing for a week.
  • Seeing what head office has sent you alongside your own posts, so you can plan around it.

A day showing no posts says exactly that — nothing is scheduled, rather than something having failed.
