Comparing your tribes

download Download PDF

Tribe Results puts every tribe side by side — this year against last, for estimates, sales, conversion, website sales and open work.

The three cards

  • Overview — active tribes, total sales this year against last, and the average conversion rate and work in progress as at last night's rebuild.
  • Top Tribes by Sales This Year — the leaderboard.
  • Tribe Sale Results — the full table, with a compact view and an export.

The active tribe count deliberately excludes paused and deleted tribes, and tells you how many of each it left out.

The columns worth understanding

ColumnMeaning
Website SalesSales credited to a website lead rather than walk-in or repeat.
Website Sale ShareThat as a percentage — the honest measure of what your marketing is contributing.
Conversion Rate ($) and (count)By value and by number of jobs.
Current WIPSold work still open as at last night's rebuild, by value and count.

In the full view there is also a column per connected platform, so you can see which system a tribe's trading came through.

Do not divide the columns yourself

SALES AND CONVERSION RATE COME FROM DIFFERENT PLACES
Only the sales columns and the per-platform columns are counted live. Estimates, Current WIP, both conversion rates, Website Sales and Website Sale Share all come from last night's rebuild, which also leaves out any platform you have excluded from the main graphs. Dividing the two columns on screen will not give you the rate beside them. Use the rate as published, and compare tribes with it rather than recomputing.

The export

Export CSV gives you the table for a board pack or a spreadsheet. It leaves out the per-platform columns.

Using it well

Sort by Website Sale Share rather than by sales. The biggest tribe is usually the biggest for reasons that have nothing to do with marketing; the one converting the most website leads is the one doing something you can copy.
