Reviewing resumes at your tribe

download Download PDF

A tribe is one location, branch or business unit inside your organisation. Each tribe has its own Recruitment area, where it manages its job postings and reviews the candidates sent to it. This guide is for the people at a tribe who review those candidates.

Opening Recruitment

  1. Open your tribe and select Recruitment in the left-hand menu.
  2. The menu shows Job Postings, the jobs your tribe has advertised, and Resumes, the candidates sent to your tribe. If you have permission to edit tribe recruitment, it also shows Settings.
  3. Select Return To Tribe at the top of the menu to go back to the rest of your tribe.

What the Resumes screen shows

The Resumes screen lists two kinds of candidate together. Use the Show filter to see one kind at a time.

  • Applied For — people who applied for one of your tribe's job postings. The Applied For column names the job.
  • Shared Resumes — people who sent a resume without applying for a particular job and chose to share it with tribes in your state, province or region. A shared resume that does not say where the candidate wants to work is listed for every tribe.

You can also filter by Status, tick Unviewed Applicants to see only the candidates nobody at your tribe has opened, and search by name or email address.

The Roles column shows the roles on the candidate’s resume. A dash means no roles are listed. Applied For shows the particular jobs they applied for; roles and jobs are separate.

Reviewing a candidate

  1. Select the candidate's name. Their resume opens in a panel on the right, with their career history, education, preferred locations and any documents they uploaded.
  2. Opening the panel marks the candidate as viewed for your tribe.
  3. Choose a status next to the job they applied for: Pending, Evaluated, Shortlist or Rejected. Pending and Evaluated are saved straight away. For Shortlist or Rejected, Gorilla Dash asks you to confirm first, for the reason below. You can change the status again later.
  4. Use the arrows at the top of the panel to move to the next or previous candidate.
THE CANDIDATE MAY BE EMAILED
If your organisation has set up automatic replies for a job, changing an application to Shortlist or Rejected emails the candidate, and that email cannot be recalled. Changing the status of a shared resume never emails the candidate.

Choosing who receives recruitment emails

  1. In your tribe’s Recruitment menu, select Settings. You need Edit Tribe Recruitment permission to open and save this screen.
  2. Select Team Members to receive new applications and shared resumes. Only active tribe users with recruitment access are offered.
  3. Enter any Additional Email Addresses, pressing Enter after each address.
  4. Select Save. Current Application Recipients refreshes to show who receives applications using the saved settings. Shared resumes use tribe recipients only, without the organisation fallback.
EXISTING RECIPIENTS STAY UNTIL YOU SAVE
Until the first save, recruitment keeps using the tribe’s Enquiry & File Upload Notification - Recipients Email Addresses setting. The screen explains when this inherited mode is active and prefills its valid email addresses in Additional Email Addresses. Saving without edits keeps those addresses as dedicated recruitment recipients and does not change enquiry notifications. If you deliberately clear both fields and save, recruitment uses active tribe users with recruitment access. Job applications fall back to the organisation’s email address when no tribe recipients are available. Shared resumes do not use that organisation fallback.

Reviewing from the email, without logging in

When a new application or shared resume arrives, the recipients chosen above are emailed. The email has a Review this candidate button.

  1. Select Review this candidate. A page opens with the candidate's details and links to their documents. You do not need to log in to Gorilla Dash.
  2. Opening the page marks the candidate as viewed.
  3. Under Your decision, select Pending, Evaluated, Shortlist or Rejected. The page confirms that your choice was saved.
THE LINK WORKS FOR 30 DAYS
Anyone who has the email can use the button, so do not forward it outside your tribe. After 30 days the link stops working; review the candidate on the Resumes screen instead.
