An entry is a lead. The value of a competition is not the entries count, it is what happens to those people afterwards.
The follow-up statuses
On the tribe's entries screen each row has a Follow Up status:
- Not Contacted — the starting point for every entry.
- Hot Lead
- Warm Lead
- Cold Lead
- Not Interested
Changing one confirms with Lead status updated. The count still sitting on Not Contacted a fortnight after a competition closes tells you whether the follow-up actually happened.
Entering advances the lifecycle stage
If you use CRM lifecycle stages, entering a promotion can move a contact along automatically — the rule is called When a promotion is entered. That means competition entrants land in your pipeline without anybody keying them in.
Marketing to entrants
Entrants are ordinary contacts, so two things become available immediately:
| Where | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mailing lists | A Promotions filter — send to people who have entered these promotions. |
| Customer buckets | Rules for entered one of these promotions and has not entered these promotions. |
