Building a membership package

download Download PDF

A package is what you sell. Build it once under Packages and put as many members on it as you like.

Price bands, not a price

For each billing frequency you switch on, you set a minimum, a maximum and an advertised amount. When somebody puts a member on the package, only the frequencies you enabled are offered, and the form shows the band as a hint — Min: $x and Max: $y.

WHY A RANGE
Real membership pricing is rarely one number — there are foundation rates, negotiated rates and legacy rates. The band lets your team price within a policy instead of typing whatever they like.

What else a package carries

  • Terms and conditions — attached to the welcome email and downloadable by the member before they accept.
  • Inclusions — what the package entitles somebody to, with a frequency and quantity.
  • Joining fee bands, if you charge one.
  • Status — Active or Paused. Pausing stops it being offered on new memberships without touching anybody already on it.
  • Type — Membership Package or Vendor Package.

Sharing a package with child organisations

Vendor packages can be made visible to child organisations with Show Vendor in Child Organisations and Included Child Organisations, so a network can publish one vendor programme across the group.

Changing a package later

EDITING A PACKAGE DOES NOT REPRICE EXISTING MEMBERS
The amount billed is stored on each membership when it is created. Changing the package price changes what new members can be sold, not what existing members pay. Repricing somebody means ending their membership and creating a new one.
