A joining fee is a single charge raised when a membership starts — a setup fee, an initiation fee, a first-year levy. Set the allowed range on the package, then the actual amount on each membership.
How it appears
- It is raised as its own ledger row, described as Joining Fee.
- The member's Packages tab shows both Joining Fee and Joining Fee Status columns.
- It is collected with everything else — there is no separate collection for it.
It does not move the billing dates
The joining fee is deliberately left out of the calculation that works out when the next subscription charge falls due. A member who joins mid-month is billed their joining fee and their first subscription charge on the schedule you set, without one pushing the other along.
Waiving one
Set it to zero on the membership before it starts, or use a voucher with No Joining Fee on it. If the charge has already been raised, add a Credit on the Transactions tab for the same amount rather than deleting anything.
