Development Settings

download Download PDF

Development Settings holds the handful of organisation-wide choices the module runs on. A user with Manage Franchise Development can change them; everyone else reads them.

SettingWhat it does
First response target (minutes)How quickly a new candidate should be contacted. Candidates without a logged first response count on the dashboard.
Default owner for new candidatesPre-selected as the owner when a candidate is added without one.
Default currencyThe three-letter currency used for deal fees when a deal does not set its own.
Approval committeeThe team members who decide financing and approval. Recording them here does not yet gate anything; the approval step that reads them is still being built.
Approval ruleWhether any one approver, a majority or everyone must approve.
Keep lost candidates for (years)Records your organisation's retention intention, so it is written down in one place. Nothing is deleted automatically today — lost candidates stay until someone removes them.

Changing a setting

Edit the field and click Save. Changes apply immediately to new candidates and deals; existing records are not rewritten.

TWO SETTINGS ARE STORED, NOT ACTED ON YET
The approval committee and the retention period are saved with your organisation but nothing reads them in this release. No candidate is deleted on a schedule, and no approval is blocked. Both are wired up in a later release; setting them now means you do not have to come back.
SPEED TO FIRST CONTACT
Industry data shows most signed deals were first contacted within four hours of enquiring. Set the target to what you can actually hit and watch the Awaiting first response counter, not the target itself.
