A candidate is created from the Add candidate button on the dashboard, the Deals page or the Franchisees list. The form takes their details and, by default, opens their first deal at the same time so they land on the board straight away.
The details
- First name is the only required field. Last name, email and mobile are strongly recommended — the timeline, tasks and later steps all key off them.
- Mobile must be in international format with the country code, for example +61412345678. A local format such as 0412 345 678 is rejected so the number can be dialled and texted from anywhere.
- Preferred contact records how they asked to be reached: email, mobile, SMS or phone.
- Owner is the team member responsible for the candidate. It is pre-selected from the default owner in Development Settings when one is set.
- Address, suburb or city, state, postcode and country are optional now and used later for territory and disclosure.
- Notes is free text for anything that does not fit elsewhere.
Open their first deal now
Leave this ticked in almost every case. It creates the deal in your first pipeline stage with the deal type (single unit, multi-unit, area development, resale or conversion), the territory of interest as free text, and the number of units planned. Untick it only when you are recording someone for reference and do not want them on the board — a referral you have not spoken to yet, say.
What happens when you save
- The candidate is created with the status Candidate.
- If a deal was opened, it appears in the first stage on the board and the candidate's timeline shows "Candidate created" and "Deal opened in Enquiry".
- You are taken to the candidate's profile, where you can log the first call, add a task or open the deal.
