What Field Operations does

download Download PDF

Field Operations is where head office looks after its existing tribes. A tribe is one location, branch or business unit inside your organisation. Each tribe can have a Business Advisor: the person at head office who supports it, visits it and follows up with it. Field Operations gives that person, and their manager, one place to see how every relationship stands.

It is not a sales tool. Finding and signing new franchisees stays in Franchise Development, and selling to other businesses stays in the CRM.

TRIBES NEVER SEE IT
Field Operations is for head office only. Tribe users do not see the section, the notes written in it, or the tasks and action items it tracks.

What it is made of

PageWhat you do there
My DayYour tasks due today and overdue, today's appointments, action items waiting on your tribes, tribes you have not been in touch with lately, and their open support tickets.
TribesEvery active tribe with its Business Advisor, owner, last contact and open work. Open a tribe to see its full history.
Action ItemsSomething every tribe in a group needs to do or confirm, tracked tribe by tribe.
TasksFollow-ups about tribes and their owners, for you or the whole team.
CalendarVisits, meetings and calls booked with tribes.
Field Operations SettingsChoose which organisation people are Business Advisors.

If your organisation also uses Compliance, its pages share the same sidebar: Field Operations at the top, Compliance underneath, and the settings for both at the bottom. Each tribe's page in Field Operations also has a Compliance tab.

Switching it on

  1. Select Organisation Settings, then Applications, and turn on Field Operations. It starts switched off.
  2. Give people access with one of the three permissions below, on their role.
  3. Open Field Operations Settings and choose who your Business Advisors are.
  4. Assign each tribe its Business Advisor, from the tribe's page in Field Operations.

Finding it

Once it is switched on, Field Operations appears in your organisation's menu, and as a button in the Tribes sidebar. If your organisation has customised its menu, add it under Organisation Settings, then Customization Menus.

A Business Advisor also sees a Field Operations card on the organisation dashboard, above the Enquiries Graph, with the day's numbers. Each number opens the matching list.

Who work can be given to

Tasks, appointments, log entries and action items can only be assigned to organisation people: people marked as head office in the Organisation Chart. Tribe staff never appear in these lists. If someone you expect is missing, open them in the Organisation Chart and mark them as an organisation person.
