Choosing your Business Advisors

download Download PDF

A Business Advisor is the person at head office who looks after a group of tribes. They appear in the advisor lists across Field Operations, tribes are assigned to them, and those tribes make up their My Day. If your organisation calls the role something else, such as Field Manager, change the name under Organisation Settings and every screen uses it.

Making someone a Business Advisor

  1. In Field Operations, select Field Operations Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. You need the Manage Field Operations permission.
  2. Find the person. The list shows your organisation people; use Show to see only advisors or everyone on the org chart.
  3. Turn on their Business Advisor switch. It takes effect straight away.
ONLY ORGANISATION PEOPLE
The switch is greyed out for anyone who is not an organisation person. Open them in the Organisation Chart (their name is a link) and mark them as an organisation person first. This is the same advisor setting the Organisation Chart's person page shows, so changing it in either place changes both.

Turning it off

Turning the switch off removes the person from the advisor lists. If they still look after tribes, you are asked to confirm, because those tribes stay assigned to them until you choose someone else. The settings list shows how many tribes each person looks after, so you can see who needs reassigning.

Giving a tribe its advisor

  1. Select Tribes and open the tribe.
  2. Next to Business Advisor at the top of the page, select the pencil.
  3. Choose the advisor, or clear the field to leave the tribe unassigned, and select Save.

On the Tribes page, choose No Business Advisor under Show to find the tribes nobody is looking after.
