Working the enquiry list

download Download PDF

The enquiry list is a work queue. Its job is to make sure nothing sits unanswered — which is the only thing that really matters about enquiry handling.

Narrowing it down

  • Status — where it has got to.
  • Assigned to, including unassigned — the one to check first.
  • Form and type — which form it came from.
  • Date range — today, this week, a period you pick.
  • Tribe — at organisation level, which location it belongs to.

Assigning

Give every enquiry an owner. Assigning can move it to a different status automatically — see the statuses guide — so picking one up is a single action.

Reading the enquiry before you call

The detail shows every field they filled in, plus what you already know about them: previous estimates, previous sales, their lifecycle stage. Thirty seconds there turns a cold call into a conversation with a customer you recognise.

THE UNASSIGNED FILTER IS THE ONE THAT MATTERS
An unassigned enquiry is on nobody's list and feels urgent to nobody. Check it several times a day — an enquiry answered next morning has usually already rung a competitor.
