Creating a campaign

A campaign is one send. It points at an email and a mailing list, and says who it comes from and when it goes.

FieldWhat to put in it
Campaign nameFor you, not the customer. "March newsletter — customers" is findable in a year.
Mailing ListWho receives it. Pick this first — the recipient list drives everything else.
EmailWhat they receive.
From NameWhat appears in their inbox. A business name people recognise, or a person at it.
From AddressWhere replies go. Make sure it is a mailbox somebody actually reads.

The from name matters more than you think

On a phone the sender is often more prominent than the subject line. A name customers recognise gets opened; "noreply" does not, and it tells people you are not interested in a reply.

PICK THE LIST BEFORE THE EMAIL
The campaign screen asks for a mailing list first for a reason — several other choices depend on it. If an option looks unavailable, it is usually because no list has been selected yet.

Before you go further

  1. Look at the recipient count. Is it what you expected?
  2. Send a test and read it on a phone.
  3. Check the from address is a real, monitored mailbox.
