A stage says how far along a deal is. Out of the box the path runs through discovery, qualification, proposal and negotiation, to won or lost — your organisation can rename and reshape that list to match how you actually sell.
Moving a deal
- On the board view, drag the card into the next column.
- On the opportunity itself, change the stage — it saves immediately.
What a stage should mean
A stage is only useful if everyone moves deals at the same point. Agree the evidence for each one — "proposal" means a quote has actually gone out, not that a rep intends to send one this week.
STAGES ARE WHERE FORECASTS GO WRONG
Finding stuck deals
The board makes a stalled column obvious. If deals pile up at one stage and stop, the step after it usually belongs to nobody — an unsent quote, a site visit never booked, an approval nobody chased.
