Sizes, options and extras

Almost nothing in a branded store is one fixed thing. A shirt has sizes; a bag might have a name on it; a jacket may come with an optional logo position.

Options and extras

  • Select one — the buyer picks a single choice, like a size.
  • Select multiple — they can pick several.
  • A text field on an extra — where you need them to type something, like a name for personalisation.

Options can carry their own price, so a larger size or an added embroidery costs what it should rather than being absorbed.

Getting personalisation right

WHATEVER THEY TYPE IS WHAT YOU WILL EMBROIDER
A free text field is taken literally. Say what you expect — "First name only, as it should appear, maximum 12 characters" — and you will spend far less time chasing people about capitals, nicknames and full sentences typed into a name box.

Sizes

  • Use the size names the buyer sees on a label, not supplier codes.
  • Put children's and adults' sizes in an order that reads sensibly, not alphabetically.
  • Link to a size guide from the description. It prevents the most expensive kind of return.
