Automations across a network

download Download PDF

In a network, the question is not only what to send but who it appears to come from. A workflow is built once and can run either way.

ModeWhat the customer sees
Organisation automationEverything sent from the organisation — one brand voice, one sender.
Organisation-tribe automationSent from the tribe the recipient belongs to, so it comes from the location they actually deal with.

For anything a customer would expect from their local branch — a follow-up, a review request, a reminder — sending from the tribe is almost always better. A national sender asking about a job somebody did locally reads as a mailing list.

Enrolling every tribe

A workflow can be enrolled for all tribes at once. You are asked to confirm, because it is a network-wide change: every location's customers become eligible.

TELL THE TRIBES BEFORE YOU DO IT
Their customers will start receiving messages the tribes did not write. A location finding out because a customer mentioned it is how head office marketing loses the network's trust — send a note first.

Rolling out sensibly

  1. Run it for one willing tribe first.
  2. Look at the results and ask them what customers said.
  3. Fix the wording.
  4. Then enrol the rest.
