Camp Bow Wow has unveiled a new initiative in celebration of National Dog Day: a complimentary first day of daycare for first-time campers. This offer is complemented by a 25th-anniversary sweepstakes, demonstrating the brand’s dedication to both community engagement and pet well-being.
A recent survey conducted by Talker Research and commissioned by Camp Bow Wow reveals that 91 percent of pet parents believe social interaction is essential for their dogs. More notably, 55 percent of those surveyed reported that their dogs appear happier following socialization, reinforcing the critical role that peer interaction plays in canine mental and physical health.
Erin Askeland, Camp Bow Wow’s animal health and behavior expert, explained that “Dogs are naturally social animals, and regular social opportunities provide benefits far beyond playtime. Interaction offers essential mental stimulation, physical activity and the chance to practice healthy behaviors—reducing destructive habits and supporting longer, healthier lives.” Askeland adds that when dogs exhibit contentment and confidence, daily life becomes more enjoyable for pet parents as well.
Camp Bow Wow’s National Dog Day promotion not only offers new dogs a free introductory day but includes a personalized assessment, gradual pack integration, and guided feedback from trained Camp Counselors. This approach ensures a safe and enjoyable acclimation process for new pups as they transition into group play.
To further celebrate the occasion, the brand has launched the “Wanna Go To Camp?” sweepstakes, running from August 26 through September 30. The sweepstakes offers compelling prizes including one package with 25 days of daycare and $2,500 in cash, as well as a second prize featuring 25 days of daycare. Entries can be submitted via a visit or by posting a social media video showcasing a dog’s reaction to being told they’re going to camp.
This campaign exemplifies how franchising brands can harness research insights to craft targeted, resonant promotions that foster both engagement and brand loyalty. By aligning marketing efforts with pet owner values—such as social interaction and enrichment—Camp Bow Wow leverages timed promotions to enhance visibility and reinforce its community-first reputation.
